This chapter details taking control of your day from the get-go and completing three simple things within 20 minutes of waking: hydrating immediately, seeking light and get moving to reset your internal clock.

We are highly sensitive to momentum. By starting your morning off with intention, you set your day off on an important positive trajectory.
Build momentum first thing in the morning. Handle the first 20 minutes after you get out of bed correctly and you’ll be a step ahead of everything and feel like the whole day is at your leisure.
Follow these three steps to build that momentum:
- Hydrate with the proper Morning Mineral Cocktail
- Cocktail ingedients:
- 12 ounces filtered water
- 3 grams sea salt
- 1/4 lemon squeezed
- Mix the ingredients with a cocktail shaker and drink

- Upon waking, blast yourself with 5-10 minutes of direct blue-light exposure
- Ideally, you can step outside and bask in the bright sunlight
- If not, you can bio-hack this by using blue light-emitting earbuds

- Light movement increases your core temperature, cortisol, circulation and releases endorphins that make you more alert and put the grogginess behind you
- Movements can include light yoga, pushups, air squats, jumping jacks, flying your kid around the house like she’s an airplane
