Focus on what matters. Concentrate on what counts.

Dadly Daily Declaration

Here is today’s Game and what’s going on.

Here is what I discovered today in our Dadly Daily Declaration reading from The Perfect Day Formula by Craig Ballantyne.

The title of today’s reading is “How to Focus on What Really, Really Matters.”  We’ll break down this chapter into two segments. Let’s jump in with a few highlights first:

  • According to life coach Tony Robbins, most people lose momentum or get distracted when they don’t have a vision. “We all need a compelling future, something that will get us up and excite us. If you don’t have that, life feels very dead for high performers,” Robbins has said.
  • Your vision also protects you from temptation. Every day you will be tempted to pursue the quick and easy reward and to sacrifice your future. Treats are fine, but let them remain just that.
  • What you choose to concentrate on at night is as important for your happiness and success as how well you choose to structure your days. Many people opt for short-term pleasure in binge-watching the latest popular television series. This is not unlike a child binge-eating Halloween candy. The rewards are immediate, but the remorse lasts longer. Where did the time go, you’ll wonder, and what good became of it?
  • We must lose our desires to escape into fantasy, alcohol, and mindless pleasures each night. We must focus on being present, deeply present, with those around us who matter. You will always want more time to be with your family and friends, so use it. Don’t look back and say, “Why did I watch so much TV?” Look back and say, “I was truly there for their lives.” Focus on what matters. Concentrate on what counts.

Those gems lead us to today’s Dadly Daily Declaration:

You may feel like there is a gap between where you are in life right now and where you want to be. This problem exists because you don’t yet have a clear, defined vision for your life. Without this vision in place, your hard work is often misdirected toward unimportant goals that move you sideways in life rather than propelling you forward to your big goals and dreams.

Having your vision will lift a tremendous burden from your shoulders. It keeps you focused and reminds you what is right for you in the long run and allows you to make decisions quickly and easily. You’ll be amazed how quickly you can achieve your exact goals.
