Eliminate the wrong obstacles that tempt you into wrong behaviors.
Dadly Daily Declaration
Here is today’s Game and what’s going on.
Here is what I discovered today in our Dadly Daily Declaration reading from The Perfect Day Formula by Craig Ballantyne.
The title of today’s reading is “How to Beat Procrastination” Let’s jump in with a few highlights first:
- It is one of the greatest battles we face each day. We must fight the inertia that slows us down as we fight to take the Hill of Procrastination. The weapons we need in our arsenal are control, focus, persistence, and preparation.
- But for every minute you spend procrastinating, you miss out on a minute of effective study, a minute of making an impact, a minute of moving towards your full potential, or a minute with your family.
- Don’t wait a minute longer to learn how to tame the beast. Just think of all the amazing accomplishments that you could achieve if you could overcome procrastination.
- Beating procrastination takes preparation and knowing your strengths and weaknesses so that you can leverage what works and eliminate what doesn’t.
- The only thing that helps you overcome procrastination is to be prepared and to actually do the thing you’re procrastinating about. That’s it. You must take action.
- Action is the simplest way to avoid procrastination. Get up and throw yourself into the battle. Be clear about your number one priority and attack it with great energy.
- In order to get something done, you must first get started. In order to complete the project, you must do everything that needs to get done. It’s not rocket science. It’s persistence.
- Don’t let information gathering become your procrastination.
- Don’t let planning become your procrastination.
- The decision to move to action comes from behavioral congruence. This means that you act in accordance with what you want to accomplish.
- Compare what you say you want against what you actually do. Do they match? If not, it’s time to change and figure out what really matters. Once you do, line up your priority with the actions you need to achieve it, and then embrace the pain, pay the price, and earn the prize.
Those gems lead us to today’s Dadly Daily Declaration:
You must become the person you need to become in order to achieve the big goals and dreams that you want to achieve. You must do the right planning, take the right actions, make the right decisions, and eliminate the wrong obstacles that tempt you into wrong behaviors.
You can solve this problem by creating your rules that will guide your decisions and actions. Get started there, and then continuously work to improve your behavioral congruence in all aspects of your life.
It is from this structure that you will have more freedom in your life. It sounds paradoxical, but the better the rules you have for your life, the more freedom you will enjoy.
